Warsaw vs. Krakow

Yes, I am back, safe and sound, in the USA, but I still have more to say. I will make a few final postings, and put up some pictures, and then close the blog.

I spent 2.5 days in Warsaw. Even though I had spent a few hours there the day I arrived from Boston, I didn't take it all in at that time. My impression of Warsaw is not as favorable as my impression of Krakow. Warsaw feels huge, huger than huge, and very modern. Krakow retains a lot of real, old-word charm and interest. Warsaw's office buildings are very tall, with much in the way of late 20th century-designed steel and glass structures. And its streets felt positively cavernous.

I guess Warsaw would look entirely different had it not been bombed to rubble during WWII.
